Small sulfur spring run through Oklawaha River floodplain, swamp, streambed 5-10 feet wide with numerous broader sections; water clear but cloudy, 6-12 inches deep, emitting sulfur smell. Closed canopy of Taxodium distichum mixed with various broadleaf trees such as Magnolia virginiana, Nyssa biflora, Acer rubrum, Fraxinus pennyslvanica. Mainly mature trees averaging 12"+ dbh (with largest ca. 24" dbh) and 70-90 feet tall. Subcanopy has Ilex cassine, Persea palustris, Sabal palmetto, and young canopy trees. Shrub layer open with scattered Itea virginica and Cephalanthus occidentalis. Herbaceous stratum has abundant Boehmeria cylindrica, Woodwardia areolata, Thelypteris sp., Osmunda regalis, Pontederia cordata, etc. Toxicodendron radicans is a common vine.
